The Underpinning Of America

This painting is juried into the 250th year celebration at the Rancho Santa Margarita city's celebration and will be in their civic center Bell Tower display during November and December.

Our 250th year celebration inspired me to paint this vision that came into my head. The candle speaks that we are the light of the world to all the nations. The reverberating red in the flag and objects reminds us of the blood that has been shed. Highlighted in the foreground is the first page of our Constitution. The jar has safety pins which clues us in to the name of the painting "The Underpinning of America," our God based country standing on the shoulders of each other.

I hope to convey our proud flag and its beautiful country that in regalia it waves over. I hope you feel excited and awed by the paintings beauty and sentiment. I can't wait to see where it will hang, who it will inspire, and who it will end up blessing.
